Cains

Liverpool, UK

Since 1850. Founded by Robert Cain. He bought a small pub in Limekiln Lane Liverpool, and brewed his own ales.

In 1985 bought by Boddington’s of Manchester. Five years later sold to Whitbread, they closed the brewery.

In 1990 the brewery was re-opened by The Danish Brewery Group (Royal Unibrew). It was re-named Robert Cain & Co Ltd. But tight margins brought it to the brink of closure again in 2002.

Then the Dusanj brothers tog over.
